What Accrisoft is
Accrisoft Freedom is a long-established software suite for associations, with a meaningful presence in the real estate association market and content aimed specifically at REALTOR® boards. It bundles website, membership management, finance and other modules into a single system.
Longevity in this category counts for something. They've been serving associations for a long time and they understand the buyer.
The actual difference
It comes down to scope and age.
Scope. Accrisoft sells a suite - website plus membership plus finance plus more. We sell the website layer and connect to whatever you use for the rest. If you want one vendor for everything, that's an argument for them. If you already have a membership system that works and only the website is the problem, buying a whole suite to fix it is a large answer to a smaller question.
Age. A platform with a long history carries a long history of architecture. Newer builds get modern rendering, modern performance, and modern editing interfaces, which matter most in two places: how fast the site feels on a phone, and how much your staff dread updating it.
We'd rather you evaluated both on those specifics than took our word for it.
How to compare them properly
Don't take either vendor's summary. Do these four things:
1. Ask both for admin access, not a demo. Sit your communications director in front of each and have them build a page with a heading, two paragraphs, an image and a link to an event. Time it. This single exercise predicts more about the next five years than any feature list.
2. Ask both about your MLS feed specifically. Name your MLS and its data standard. Ask what they've connected to before and what was awkward about it.
3. Ask both for a five-year cost. Suite pricing and platform pricing look different in year one and can look very different by year five. Include hosting, licences, support and the modules you'd actually use.
4. Call two references each, at your size. Ask what took longer than expected.
Where we think we're stronger
Being specific, so you can check:
- MLS integration depth. Three data standards in production - RESO Web API, Trestle and legacy RETS - across different associations with different MLSs.
- Document search that reads inside files. For associations with large forms libraries and research archives, this changes how usable the site is.
- Modern front end. Built on current technology, which shows up as page speed on a phone.
- Migration rigour. Full crawl and archive of your existing site, reviewed URL mapping, and a post-launch link audit.
Where they may suit you better
- You want one vendor for everything - website, membership, finance. We deliberately don't do that.
- You want a suite that includes financial modules. Not our product.
- You value a longer track record in this specific category. Fair, and we're newer.
The honest summary
If you want a single all-encompassing system from a long-established vendor, Accrisoft is a reasonable choice and we'd not try to talk you out of it.
If your membership system already works and what you need is a modern public website - with your MLS data, your market statistics, a directory that's accurate, and staff who'll actually keep it updated - that's the narrower thing we build.
