Comparing TaliCMS and GrowthZone
If your GrowthZone AMS works but the website is the weak point, you don't have to replace the whole system - just the website.
Short version: if your association runs GrowthZone and the membership side works fine but the website is the part people complain about, you don't have to replace the whole thing. You can keep your AMS and replace the website.
That's what the Abilene Association of REALTORS® did.
What GrowthZone does well
Let's be fair, because the fair version is more useful to you.
GrowthZone is a capable association management system. It handles membership records, dues, renewals, committees and event registration, it serves a large number of REALTOR® associations, and for many associations the membership side genuinely works.
If your GrowthZone AMS is doing its job, keep it. This page isn't an argument for ripping out your membership system.
Where associations run into limits
The website is a module within an AMS, not a product in its own right. That shapes what you get:
Template-constrained design. Association sites built this way tend to look like other association sites built this way. That's efficient, and it's also why your board keeps forwarding you screenshots of other associations' websites.
Editing friction. The most common complaint we hear about AMS-bundled websites isn't a missing feature - it's that routine changes are harder than they should be, so staff stop making them and the site goes stale.
Real estate specifics are add-ons. MLS listings, Find-a-REALTOR® directories built from your member data, monthly market statistics by city and county - these are core to a REALTOR® association and peripheral to a general association platform.
One decision, two lifespans. Your membership system should last a decade. Your website will look tired in four years. Bundled together, you either live with a dated site or contemplate a data migration you never wanted.
The alternative: replace the website, keep the AMS
You are not obliged to treat this as all-or-nothing.
TaliCMS is a public website platform. It doesn't process dues, hold membership records or replace your AMS. It connects to your member data and gives your staff a website they can actually run.
| GrowthZone website module | TaliCMS | |
|---|---|---|
| Membership records, dues, renewals | Native | Not its job - stays in your AMS |
| Public website design | Template-based | Designed to your association's brand |
| Staff publishing | Common source of complaints | The primary design goal |
| MLS listings | Add-on / limited | Core - RESO, Trestle and RETS in production |
| Market statistics by area | Limited | Core |
| Find-a-REALTOR® directory | Basic | Built from your member data |
| Document search | Filename and title | Can read inside documents |
| Single sign-on | Within the GrowthZone ecosystem | Uses the identity provider your members already have |
| If you're unhappy later | Replacing it means replacing your AMS | Replace the website, keep your data |
Abilene: what actually happened
The Abilene Association of REALTORS® ran a GrowthZone-built website. Their new site launched in August 2026 on TaliCMS.
What changed:
- Property search with live MLS listings. 82,937 listings from their NTREIS feed, synced automatically, with open house data.
- Member resources behind their existing MLS login via Clareity SSO - no new password.
- Directories for REALTORS®, brokerages and affiliates.
- One events calendar for classes, committee meetings and association events.
What didn't change: their membership operations.
Is switching right for you?
Probably not, if:
- You have fewer than about 500 members and one or two staff - the simplicity is worth more
- Nobody is complaining and the site does its job
- You're mid-contract with years to run and no trigger event
Worth a conversation, if:
- Staff avoid updating the site because it's painful
- You need MLS listings, market statistics or a real member directory
- Members complain they can't find things, or resent another login
- You're merging, rebranding, or reassessing after a leadership change
- Your renewal is coming up and you want a genuine comparison
What it involves
You keep your AMS. We connect to your member data, build the public site, migrate your content, map every existing URL to its new home so links don't break, and hand your staff a platform they can run.
