The situation

We built Unlock MLS for the Austin Board of REALTORS®. It is an earlier project, on a different technical foundation, and the work that TaliCMS grew out of. It was the first version of the idea: a public website built for an association.

We did not set out to build a product. We built a website for an association, and then another one. Each brief looked different on the surface and was the same underneath: a member directory, MLS listings, market statistics, events, a document library, member-only content. Every association needed the same eight or nine things.

By the third build the pattern was impossible to ignore, and every one of those things was still being quoted as if it were custom development. Unlock MLS is where that started, and it is why TaliCMS exists as a product that is already built rather than scoped from scratch. Unlock MLS runs on a different foundation and is not a TaliCMS site. It is here because the story starts there.

Working with Darren and the DazLab team to redesign the Unlock MLS and Austin Board of REALTORS® website was a smart decision. As we looked to modernize our digital presence, we needed more than just a fresh design - we needed a platform that could meet the evolving needs of our subscribers and members across Central Texas - and DazLab delivered. The DazLab team took the time to understand our brand, our users, and the complex systems we integrate with. Their willingness to work with our AMS infrastructure was much appreciated, and a key component to making this project a success. Their efforts resulted in a sleek, high-performing website that not only looks great but also functions beautifully. From improved navigation and search functionality to a streamlined backend, DazLab built a site that supports both our mission and our vision. Their collaboration, communication, and strategic thinking was crucial in making this project a success.
